A brief history
Construction of Ramallah's Holy Family Church began in 1913, after Ottoman permission was granted. The Catholic community had previously worshipped in a house in the Hatha neighbourhood. The church developed with a rectory, a convent and a school, bringing parish worship and education together in the centre of Ramallah.
An interesting detail
The parish belongs to a long educational tradition: the Latin Patriarchate dates its Ramallah school to 1858, decades before construction of the present church began.
