Updated 15 September 2026

Middle East Churches is an independent guide to churches, monasteries and Christian heritage. This notice describes the website as it operates today.

Browsing this guide

You can read the directory without an account. The site has no registration, newsletter, payment or upload form. Advertising is not active.

Visitor statistics

Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregate page views, referring sites, approximate location and browser/device information without cookies. Its request-derived visitor hash expires after 24 hours. Our integration removes URL query strings and fragments, runs only on the public website and sends no custom events.

Language preference

When you change language, your browser saves the choice in session storage under mec-language. It is used for language navigation and is not sent to an advertising service. You can clear it through your browser’s site-data controls; it normally ends with the browser tab’s session. The site does not set advertising cookies.

Hosting and maps

Vercel delivers the pages and photographs. Opening the interactive map also requests tiles, labels and map artwork from OpenFreeMap. These providers receive technical connection information, such as your IP address, browser information and the resources requested, to deliver and protect their services. Map requests identify the area being viewed; the site does not request your device’s GPS location. Provider storage and retention are governed by their own policies.

External links

Sources, directions, church websites and photo credits link to other services. Those services apply their own privacy policies when you open them. Photographs displayed in this guide are hosted with the website.

Advertising plans

Google AdSense is being considered, but ads are not enabled. If advertising is introduced, this notice will be updated and applicable consent choices will be provided before ads are activated. Any advertisements will be identified and kept separate from the guide’s editorial content.

How Google advertising works

On websites that enable Google ads, Google and other advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to select and measure ads based on visits to that website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies can support personalized ads from Google and its partners. Google’s privacy information and advertising controls are linked below. These links do not activate advertising on this website.

Your choices

You can manage cookies and stored site data in your browser and read the guide’s country pages without opening the interactive map. If Google ads are introduced, a consent manager will provide the applicable choices, including a way to revisit them. No advertising consent is requested or recorded by this version of the site.

Changes to this notice

The date above will change when this notice is revised. New advertising, analytics or contact services will be described here before they are enabled.
