History: Forty Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church, Nor Marash

The Nor Marash church was founded in 1929 on land provided by the Marash compatriotic union and consecrated in 1930 by Archbishop Yeghishe Garoyan. Its dedication continued that of the community's church in Marash. In 1962, marble altars designed by Kevork Emmiyan replaced the original wooden ones.

An interesting detail

The Forty Martyrs dedication preserves the name of the Armenian community's former church in Marash.
