History: Saint Maron Maronite Church, Gemmayze
Saint Maron's parish became a centre of neighbourhood assistance after the 4 August 2020 Beirut port explosion. In a 2025 interview, parish priest Richard Abi Saleh described establishing Musical Thursdays in the church: free concerts supporting young Lebanese musicians and welcoming people beyond the regular congregation. The church's recent story links worship, local relief and cultural renewal.
