History: Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Tila Al-Ali
The parish first worshipped in a schoolroom under the dedication of Saint Paul. Its present Sacred Heart church was built in 2000 under Father Joseph Rabadi and blessed by Patriarch Michel Sabbah. The move placed the church on a different site from the parish’s earlier school facilities.
An interesting detail
The school remained at its original Gardens Street site when the church moved.
