History: Presentation of the Lord Orthodox Cathedral, Amman
The Greek Orthodox cathedral in Sweifieh belongs to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. On 21 September 2014 it hosted the Divine Liturgy for Orthodox participants in the international Orthodox–Catholic dialogue commission, with Catholic members attending. Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia presided during this documented gathering in the church.
An interesting detail
The cathedral’s dedication recalls the presentation of Jesus in the Temple.
