History: Annunciation Latin Church, Shatana
The Patriarchate’s chronology dates Shatana’s Latin church to 1952, when Patriarch Alberto Gori blessed it. It followed earlier small worship spaces shared with the parish school. The church serves a community whose early priests had used a rented room for worship, teaching and their own accommodation.
An interesting detail
Before a separate church was available, one table served both as altar and classroom furniture.
