A brief history
This Armenian church is mentioned by pilgrims from the fourteenth century; its original construction date is unknown. An inscription records renovation in 1725. Tradition identifies the site with Annas’s house, but this biblical association is not an established location.

Armenian Kütahya tiles were added to its walls in 1726–1737.
