History: Maronite Church of the Annunciation
The Maronite Church of the Annunciation serves Nazareth’s Maronite Catholic community, present in the city since 1620 and numbering about 1,200 people today. The church is a twenty-first-century building of reinforced concrete, with an onion-shaped dome and a bell tower topped by a statue of the Virgin Mary. Its interior is decorated with sculptures and paintings by the Italian painters Tese and Lamagna.
An interesting detail
It is a separate church from the Catholic Basilica of the Annunciation and the Coptic church of the same name in Nazareth.
