History: Greek Catholic Church of the Annunciation
The Greek Catholic Church of the Annunciation is the parish church of Nazareth’s Melkite Greek Catholic community. It was built in 1887 beside the Synagogue Church. Its interior has three naves divided by two rows of columns and is richly decorated with paintings and icons, and the compound also houses a primary school, a secondary school, a seminary and the parish.
An interesting detail
Because it stands so close, it is often mistaken for the Synagogue Church next door.
