A brief history
Bishop Samuel Gobat dedicated Nazareth’s Anglican church on 1 October 1871. Before the building existed, the parish worshipped at the Jreineh School, established in 1851. This sanctuary therefore records the development of a local nineteenth-century congregation within Nazareth’s much older Christian landscape.
An interesting detail
The original dedication included three priestly ordinations and confirmations. Its 150th anniversary in 2021 again included confirmations, connecting two generations of parish milestones.
