A brief history
Mensa Christi is a Roman Catholic church in Nazareth, cared for by the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land. Its Latin name means table of Christ and refers to a large rock preserved inside, venerated in local tradition as a place where the risen Jesus ate with his disciples. That identification is devotional tradition rather than a located Gospel event, and the present church is far later than the period it commemorates.
