History: Saint Peter Evangelical Church, Tehran
Saint Peter’s belongs to the late nineteenth-century development of Si-ye Tir Street. Architectural historian Maryam Mirzaei records that American Protestant missionaries purchased land north of Meydan-e Mashgh in 1885 for a school and church. The site developed as an Evangelical Presbyterian centre near the Armenian neighbourhood and British embassy.
An interesting detail
A documented 2017 photograph shows the brick church within its garden, with tall narrow arched windows and a projecting tower capped by a gable.
