A brief history
This Armenian Apostolic church in District 12 is the oldest church in Tehran. It is dedicated to two apostles, Thaddeus and Bartholomew, whom Armenian tradition names as the first to bring Christianity to Armenia — which is why their names recur across Armenian churches from the Nakhichevan border to the Iranian capital.
