History: Christuskirche, German Protestant Church of Tehran
The German-speaking Protestant congregation adopted its statutes in 1958. Its institutional history records the purchase of land in Gholhak and the construction of a church and parsonage there. Christuskirche became a shared centre for the German congregation and an English-speaking international fellowship.
An interesting detail
In a 2016 visit, Stefan Piasecki recorded a small library inside the church room and described how choirs and orchestras used its acoustics for rehearsals.
