History: Saint Minas Church, New Julfa
Saint Minas is an Armenian Apostolic church in the Davrezh neighbourhood of New Julfa, Isfahan. It was built in 1659 by Armenians from Tabriz who had moved from Shamsabad, another district of Isfahan, where they had built a church of Saint Mary; the new church first carried the same name and was renamed when a relic of Saint Minas was given to it. A chapel was added in 1713, and the church was renovated in 1909.
An interesting detail
Its courtyard holds the tombstones of two Georgians and of a British deputy consul in Isfahan.
