History: Saint Nerses Church, New Julfa
Saint Nerses the Great is an Armenian Apostolic church in the Kocher neighbourhood of New Julfa, Isfahan, next to the Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. It was built in 1666 by Avetis Gilanian and took its present name when a relic of Saint Nerses was given to it. Its bell tower was added in 1889.
An interesting detail
Among the tombstones in its courtyard are eleven of Georgians, inscribed in Armenian and Georgian.
