A brief history
Christ Church's foundation stone was laid in November 2000, and Bishop Clive Handford consecrated it on 8 March 2002. Anglican clergy from Dubai and Sharjah initially served its small congregation. Its first resident priest was appointed late in 2002, and the community grew as Dubai expanded towards the formerly isolated Jebel Ali area.
An interesting detail
The Anglican church shares its building with congregations worshipping in several languages, including Malayalam, Tamil and Portuguese.
