A brief history
Holy Trinity stands on land granted by Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai. The Anglican chaplaincy of Dubai and Sharjah was formally instituted on 5 April 1970 and the church followed on 13 December that year; it belongs to the Anglican Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf. Its ties are Anglican, but the compound is shared: more than 120 different Christian groups use it, and between ten and eleven thousand people worship there in a week.

One compound, 120 congregations. It is what a church looks like in a country where most Christians are migrant workers and building land is granted, not bought.
