Opened for worship in 1912, this neo-Gothic Catholic basilica on İstiklal Avenue is served by Franciscan friars. Its architects were Giulio Mongeri and Eduardo de Nari.
Saints & traditions
Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, the future Pope John XXIII, preached and celebrated Mass here for Saint Anthony’s feast in 1932.
