History: Saint Theodore Church, Behdaidat
Saint Theodore's church preserves medieval wall paintings across its apse and nave. A Lebanese–Italian conservation team led by Isabelle Doumet-Skaf and Giorgio Capriotti restored them between 2009 and 2013. Work included repairing the roof, controlling moisture and removing damaging salts. The paintings combine Christ and the evangelists with the Annunciation and Old Testament scenes.
An interesting detail
Mounted figures of Saints Theodore and George occupy opposite walls of the church.
