CHURCH BUILDING
Saint George’s Anglican Cathedral
Jerusalem · Anglican / Episcopal

A brief history
Construction of the cathedral compound began in 1891 under Bishop George Blyth, and the church was consecrated in 1898. Designed by George Jeffery around an English-style quadrangle, the complex became a centre of Anglican diocesan life and hospitality in Jerusalem.
An interesting detail
Its pilgrim guesthouse opened in 1923 in buildings that had previously accommodated clergy and a choir school, adapting the cathedral compound for visitors.
