A brief history
Completed in 1965, this is the only Catholic church in Gaza. Its parish runs a school, and works alongside the Missionaries of Charity, who care for elderly and disabled people, and the Rosary Sisters, who run a school of their own; priests of the Institute of the Incarnate Word serve the community. English Wikipedia records that the church and its school have been attacked repeatedly by the Israeli military since the Gaza war began in 2023, that Gazan Christians have been killed, and that the buildings have been damaged.
