A brief history
The Greek Orthodox sanctuary at Kafr Kanna commemorates the wedding where John recounts Jesus turning water into wine. Its custodians also associate the site with Simon the Cananite. These are local devotional traditions; they do not establish the building as the original wedding house.
An interesting detail
Two stone vessels are venerated inside in connection with the miracle. Their devotional identification does not demonstrate that they were the vessels described by John.
