A brief history
Established and consecrated in 1925, Zeitoun’s Virgin Mary Church celebrated its centenary in 2025 with Pope Tawadros II. Its modern history is closely associated with reported Marian apparitions beginning in 1968, which the Coptic Orthodox Church recognises devotionally.
