A brief history
Saint George’s in Sporting held its first liturgy in a temporary building on 3 December 1959. Father Bishoy Kamel had been ordained the previous day as the parish’s first priest.
An interesting detail
The site beside the Ramleh tramway had previously been rented by the Homenetmen sports club, according to the recorded parish history.
