History: Saint John the Baptist Church, Al-Dhannah
The foundation stone of Saint John the Baptist church at Ruwais, now Al-Dhannah, was blessed on 30 December 2018. Bishop Paul Hinder blessed the completed church on 17 December 2021. The project provided a sanctuary seating about 800 people, together with an upper-floor hall, offices and a residence, for Catholics in western Abu Dhabi.
An interesting detail
The church received the crucifix and statue of Mary made for Pope Francis's Mass in Abu Dhabi on 5 February 2019.
