History: Saint Pius X Church, Zarqa South
The Latin community in southern Zarqa first worshipped in borrowed premises and then in a girls’ school hall blessed in 1952. A larger church dedicated to Saint Pius X was blessed on 20 April 1956. The parish history distinguishes these early shared rooms from the purpose-built church.
An interesting detail
Removable partitions once allowed schoolrooms to become a single hall for Sunday Mass.
