A brief history
Eastern Orthodox Christians in Kuwait belong to the Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, and the parish here was reorganised in 1969 by Metropolitan Constantine Papastephanou of Baghdad and Kuwait, who held the see until 2014 and visited Kuwait often. Metropolitan Ghattas Hazim has succeeded him. The archdiocese keeps its official seat in Baghdad, but its administrative headquarters are in Kuwait.
