A brief history
The Catholic church at Ahmadi, the town Kuwait's oil industry built, holds the cedar statue of Our Lady of Arabia carved in 1949. The statue in the Holy Family Co-Cathedral in Kuwait City is a smaller replica of this one. Catholic jurisdiction here began as the Apostolic Prefecture of Kuwait in 1953; it became the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia in 2011, and now covers Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia together.
Saints & traditions
Our Lady of Arabia is the patroness of both apostolic vicariates, Northern and Southern Arabia. That is why a cathedral in Bahrain carries the same dedication as this church; it is documented here too, and they are not the same place.
