History: Saint Andrew Scots Church, Tiberias
Around 1930, the Scottish mission’s worship in Tiberias moved from the hospital into the present Saint Andrew’s church building. The building had previously housed a school upstairs and storage below. Structural deterioration and earthquake damage led to substantial refurbishment in 1986.
An interesting detail
The sanctuary occupies the ground-floor space that once stored supplies for the mission, beneath the former school.
