A brief history
The present Orthodox parish church in Nicosia’s old town was built in 1872–73 and consecrated in 1911. It replaced an earlier church on a former convent site.
An interesting detail
A marble mausoleum beside the church preserves the remains of bishops and priests executed by Ottoman authorities on 9 July 1821.
