Saint Mary and Saint Abanoub Church

Samanoud · Christian

A brief history

The present church was built in 1841 over an older church affected by Nile flooding, according to the Holy Family pilgrimage account. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Saint Abanoub, it preserves Samanoud’s longstanding Christian pilgrimage traditions.
